Just a toy

1.

we treat each other like toys

not just

me

and

you

our friends

family

partners

we're with them

and

we use them

and when we're done

we thrown them away

out of boredom

or wanting

to play with another toy

until we play with them again

but sometimes

we

never

want to play with the same toys

again

or those toys

disappear

into thin air

I felt like a toy of yours

just another

one

out of your many

for a very long time

whereas I wanted you

all the time

but you were off

playing

with your other toys

and I had to live

wondering

if you'd ever come back

each time you'd leave

and maybe

that's why

I was cruel to you

out of insecurity

and fear

but who's to say you were wrong

to treat me that way?

we're all children at heart

and knowing you tried

I suppose

is enough.
